AND FINALLY ( From ' Nonagenarian Nonsense ').
Last Saturday night the wife of a friend of mine rang him to say that she was in Casualty.
Anyway he told me that he watched all 50 minutes of it plus a recording but never saw her once!
Now he tells me that he hasn't seen anything of her lately, and he's starving!
Reflection on the lectionary: Luke 10:38-42
Sometimes when all our busyness
is just much too bear
remember Jesus kindly words
with Mary sitting there.
The words that Martha felt unfair
gave leave to stop and be,
and those who need the peace of God
have reason to feel free.
So when for any one of us
the pressure is too great,
then stop, take stock, and rest awhile,
it never is too late.
