Alterations to the Church heating system

The buckled parquet floor has now been fully restored and radiator covers installed in the foyer.  Additional radiator covers are to be installed in the church sanctuary area.

Please avoid touching the heating panels as they become very hot.

The contractor is making the protective covers hopefully this week.

Our new cooker should also now be installed.

We are grateful to our Contractors “Help You Save” for all their patience and hard work to make everything right for us.

Message from Rev Anton Muller (County Ecumenical Officer)

Thy Kingdom Come 9th – 19th May 2024

I hope this finds you well and enjoying this Eastertide.  It has been good to hear about the various local events that took place in Holy Week and Easter.  We are now on the journey to Pentecost with the ten days from Ascension to Pentecost marked out with the global ecumenical programme of prayer “Thy Kingdom Come”.   You are encouraged to come together ecumenically to pray for each other, each community and for the world.   I have put the resource links onto  the Churches Together in Lancashire website, you can access them here:  https://www.ctlancashire.org.uk/thy-kingdom-come-ascension-to-pentecost-2024/   Please do let me know about your events which I will happily share across our network of churches and groups.

Methodist thought for the day

Psalm 23

The Lord is our shepherd:

we shall not be in want.

When life is rushed and hectic and there’s never enough time for all we have to do:

Lord speak to us of green fields and still waters and calm our souls.

When we are tempted into the easy, comfortable way of going along with the crowd, even if that behaviour is selfish and uncaring:

Lord guide us into the paths of true and honest living.

When our days are filled with pain and sorrow, our own or that of others, and the fear of death is strong:

Lord, be with us and grant us your strength to face the future with courage.

When we have to meet hostility face to face:

Lord, keep us safely in your care and guide us as we defend our faith.

When we have a great need of your love:

Lord, pour your blessings into our lives.

When we are in need of your forgiveness:

Lord, reassure us with your goodness and mercy and remind us that you are with us for ever.

The Lord is our shepherd:

we shall not be in want.

Amen
